24: The Official Companions

Since 24's clock is stopped until January 2009, why not take a look at one of the companion books of the previous seasons while waiting for Jack Bauer and co. to return to the small screen? I had the chance to receive review copies of Seasons 5 and 6 official companion books; each filled with goodies, interviews, less-known facts, etc. The Official Companion - Season 6 even includes a DVD with rare behind-the-scenes content.

New Amsterdam Spoilers

New Amsterdam is a new series that will air on FOX starting on March 4. We were able to get spoilers for three of the 8 episodes produced. Here is all we have (note that our episode numbers may be slightly off):

Episode 1.02 will feature various flashbacks with Lily Mae Brown, an African-American woman in her 40s who is said to be beautiful. We also meet Hannah Clearly, a British 30-year-old who works at Drew Academy as faculty advisor; Jack Shaw, a working class doorman; and Corey, a smart 5-year-old African-American boy. Episode 1.04 will be titled "Honor." Amartya Vikram, an Indian supermodel, is raped and stabbed. Luckily, the woman survives. She agrees to help the police only if her name is kept secret. When the rapist is arrested and released on a technicality, she turns to Amsterdam to protect her. In flashbacks from 1813, we discover that one of Amsterdam's ex-girlfriend, Fanny, was raped. A new recurring character that may become a series regular will be introduced around episode 1.05. Callie Barnett is a Detective sergeant. She has had a relationship with Amsterdam a long time ago. Since getting pregnant by the target of an undercover investigation, Barnett is keeping her private life extremely private which has everyone working with her speculate about who she really is. The baby is being raised by Callie's mother, Louise. Callie is set to be tough, intuitive, reckless at times and extremely competitive. Source: SpoilerFix.com

Samantha Who? Spoilers

I was waiting to be closer to the airdate before posting these but since it's unknown when the network will air this episode, let's post all the goods now!

Episode 1.12 - The Birthday: One of Sam's old friends, Chloe, tells Sam she can't do something with her because of her dying aunt in the hospital. Sam remembers back to the non-amnesiac past when she told Andrea about lying to a guy about having a sick mother or relative in the hospital and putting a picture by the bed of someone in a coma or near coma in case the guy goes to the hospital to see them. Sam decides to check up on Chloe's "relative" and is surprised by what she finds at the hospital. Source: SpoilerFix.com [Last episode completed before the writers' strike]

By the way, Samantha Who? was renewed for a second season.
